The Goodness of God’s Plan

The Bible says, “All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose” (Rom. 8:28 ESV). I’m sixteen, and maybe it’s just me, but I have little control over where my life is leading.

Right now, I am on the road driving to Pennsylvania. Did I decide to go here? Nope. Not that I don’t want to visit my Grandma, but that the decision was not up to me.

Currently, I am enrolled in Liberty University’s dual-enrollment program, on track to get a degree in Biblical Studies. Did I decide to do this? Not at all. I could drag my feet and fail, but that is something that I don’t think is right.

It is essential to mention, as well, that I am not prepared to set off on my own quite yet, so I appreciate my parent’s guiding decisions in the meantime.

Nevertheless, the most important thing to remember is what God has promised in his Word. I “love God” and I am “called according to his purpose,” which means that all these things will work out for my good. That means that even though I don’t know why he’s put me on this road to Pennsylvania or why I am in college in eleventh grade, I can still know that he has a plan and a reason for all that is happening to me.
